Have you ever wanted to become a developer and tried googling like following
Yeah, I have done this too. And seriously speaking, I also used to google
"Habits that make me a developer from within".
Because I think, being a developer is not only about coding, its about how you live, how you spend time, how you treat others and many core values representing a person. And guess what, I have found some top secrets that will make you understand the habits of a developer.
I know it may not be 100% correct all the times, but I had tried and tested several times, comparing some statistics and much more.
Trust me it would be a fun, Let's go.
Huh! What you speaking Devesh, writing a code before its actually written? Are you serious what you talking about?
Yeah my friend, if you are explaining any new funtionality or change in a feature he/she will start developing code in his mind before in VS Code. He/She has trained his/her mind in such a way that any new feature gets build in his/her mind itself.
It doesn't come at the start but if you have spent couple of years working and writing code you can easily relate to me. And I think this is the best quality of being a developer, because its just feel nice feature getting developed inside brain.
QA:- I have found a bug, you have written a bad code. I am not getting the external link when I signup for the application.
Dev ( who have skipped meals for this funtionality ) :- Refresh the page, It works on my machine (angrily).
Have you ever worked with Junior Developers, they are very interested and keen with their work. They are very excited with their work. And
Sone pe Suhaga, you have given them a new funtionality to build..... they just get lost the kind of work they have to do and think only of the feature that is new to them.
Sometimes they just skip girlfriend's call, meals and anime (anime lovers will kill me for this), just to get that feature develped. They are attached to the code.
I love this quality the most amongst the developers community, they are always hungry and interested in teaching others. They are much more collaborative when it comes the development of a feature.
You know what I have sneaked into one of the conversation, lets have a look...
BA:- I got a new feature for you, we need to send email to our customer when a new order is placed.
Devs:- Dev1 knows email configuration and I will write a code to trigger that.
Eventually both the developer knows the email config and a code to trigger as they have worked collaboratively. Aslo some developers always wanted his/her friend circle to be on top in terms of knowledge. So that share knowledge in form of forums, weekly meetings, Hackathons and more more things like this.
So, in short "Developers have made learning easy for great Developers"
As this technical field is very vast and some have interest in different different areas. Any small development or innovation in that field freaks them out and they keep about thing throught the day with other developer friend.
They are somewhat technical while speaking, so other people may find it harder to understand what they want to say actually.
Regarding their dedication, give them a funtionality they have never developed and the next moment you will be seeing the most dedicated person on the planet.
They have ownership of the feature they have developed in any application and they are trully happy when customer are viewing his/her feature.
And if customer praises his/her feature then:-
Developers are strange, they are very excited to develop the toughest funtionality ever existed. They get too occupied by doing everything possible. They work their ass off to get that thing done.
And one thing, just one thing, every developer on planet is scared of comes up, i.e BUG, the developer gets running sweat, the developer gets tensed.
And all the excitement is gone, and now developer is in totally different mode. Sitting silently, not talking to anyone, just his/her and his/her computer
And once the bug resolved developer gets back into his normal form.
Huh! tough job to write about developers, afterall after wife no one can understand developer when he/she is solving a bug.
I hope you liked my blog post, please share this with your developer friends. They will love this....
Stay Happy, Stay Blessed.
Happy coding.
This side, Devesh Korde, signing off.......
